Chennai, July 21, 2010: C.R.I.Pumps Private Limited has been awarded the Tamilnadu Government’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award, 2009 – 2010.  Mr. G.Soundararajan, Vice Chairman of C.R.I.Pumps Private Limited received the award from Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Thiru M K Stalin today at Secretariat Building.

The Award is a Certificate with a cash Prize of Rs.5,00,000/-.

C.R.I.Pumps Private Limited has been selected for the award on account of the following CSR initiatives and projects which were carried out by it directly and through its two trusts, the C.R.I.Charitable Trust and the Shri K.Gopal Memorial Trust.
  1. Construction of an Auditorium, a library and other infrastructure for the Corporation Higher Secondary School, Siddhapudur, Coimbatore.
  2. Construction of a Bio-mass Gasifier Crematorium for the people living in and around Coimbatore.
  3. Adoption of 8 Government Schools in the following villages; Chinnavedampatti, Idigarai, Saravanampatti, Keerantham, Kurumbapalayam, Kovilpalayam (Sarkar Samakulam), Kunnathur and Oraikalpalayam. Some of the major activities carried out in these schools under the above adoption programme are as follows;

    • Providing Teachers to achieve 1:40 Teacher – Student ratio.
    • Separating slow learners and providing special classes.
    • Providing question papers and answer sheets for Revision Tests
    • Providing Scholarship and educational aids and snacks for meritorious students.
    • Conducting summer classes in computer education, tailoring, catering, beautician , electric equipments service painting and embroidery.
    • Providing drinking water , toilet facilities. 
    • Providing Science laboratory, library, computer lab facilities.
    • Construction of compound wall, class rooms etc. and maintenance work of all facilities and structures.
    • Providing Security Guards and scavengers
    • Creating Play grounds and providing sports materials.
       
  4. Conduct of annual sports event called C.R.I.Pumps Trophy, a Basket Ball tournament for women; and Donations to Sports Associations.
  5. Donations to old age homes and health care.

    CRI is doing CSR activities not as a business fad but as an integral part of entrepreneurship. The Directors believe that the Corporate Social Responsibility encompasses the areas of well being of all the Stakeholders including society, business ethics, and environment.  All these values have been incorporated in the management of the company.
